About this project

I've worked in the agricultural industry for 10 years and have seen the development of technology (from GPS guided tractors-to microprocessor controlled irrigation pumps), but this is the next step in the Columbia Basin to improve growing conditions for all crops.   This method of surveying land and vegetation will improve crop yields and decrease farmers' operating costs.

SkyVisionLTD. offers farmers, realestate developers, and land managers realtime video and high resolution aerial images on demand. Our unmanned aircraft are the superior alternative to flying traditional aircraft for aerial surveillance and analysis. Our UAVs provide images for aerial photography, exploration, agricultural surveying, and many other industries. Our team provides the skill, technology, data acquisition platorms, and software to facilitate the most efficient application of irrigation, fertilizer, and pest control substances available. Once a survey is complete we provide the client with the data as soon as it's avaible from a flight (or the client can view the scan in realtime on the deployed laptop). For local farmers our NDVI maps can be generated by our SKYY UAV (fixed wing) surveying fields of up to 400 acres in size. Our SKYX UAV can be used for orchards and wineries where the growing acreage is smaller. For 100 acre and larger farms we will use our SKYV fixed wing UAV.

Our ultimate goal is to provide micro UAV aerial surveying to clients who need technologically advanced data maps of various topography/structures to improve their business performance.

We will be using commercially available UAV platforms and high end micro computers for waypoint autonomous flying, and FPV tracking/grid based coordination returns.  Our multispectral camera will be sourced from tetracam and our real-time footage will be generated by go-pro hero3+ cameras.   We will use precision mapper software to stitch together and output multispectral and gsi data sets in the field in real time. 

Risks and challenges

We are working through initial flight setup and testing on our fixed wing UAV, and we are in the ordering stage of the SKYX UAV (HEX rotor aircraft). We expect no production delays as we are not purchasing packaged kits from vendors.
